The popping: you’re in good hands!

Is chiro safe?

Rest assured, you’re in good hands.

As its name indicates (from the Greek “Chiro” = hand and “practice” = action) Chiropractic is a controlled manual therapy. It is a complementary, non-drug based health profession.
The manipulation will not hurt you and is risk-free.

6 years of study to make you crack!

The professional program in Chiropractic Education requires a minimum of 5 years of full-time study, including one year of clinical practice. Click here to read my article about chiro!

For my part, I validated my 6-year course at the Institut Franco Européen de Chiropraxie de Paris. I chose to complete my training with a specialization in pediatrics and the accompaniment of pregnant women.

On the importance of the anamnesis

During your first chiro session, your doctor will perform a thorough examination called the anamnesis. The aim here is to assess the most appropriate therapy for the patient. Diagnosis is an essential step in chiropractic care.

Your chiropractor will collect information related to your general state of health.
This is the time to talk (don’t panic, there is some tea and good vibes) about your medical history – your trauma history, possible drug treatments, pain or any other information needed to establish a diagnosis and treatment plan.
Since chiropractic is part of a comprehensive bio-psycho-social approach, you will also be asked to describe your lifestyle.

→ Once everything is said, we move on to the examination!

Targeting the origin of the pain (muscles, joints, ligaments, nerves, …) is of course the most important point. Neurological, posturological and biomechanical analysis makes it possible to identify any obvious dysfunction in the body and to determine which tissues are concerned.

Finally, the chiropractor will make a few painless adjustments to your body and propose a treatment plan. The manipulation allows an immediate relief of pain and prepares a general well-being. Everything is done gently and painlessly.

A few well-directed movements, a few seconds, crack and poof! You are already better.
You leave with – as a bonus – some precious personalized advice to improve your daily hygiene.

At my practice, the first session lasts between 40 and 45 minutes. I work in synergy with other health professionals: following the diagnosis, if the treatment is not within my field of competence, I can refer you to the appropriate practitioner/doctor in Berlin and near Friedrichshain.

Yeah, but… why is it cracking?

A freeing joint and the associated crackling, that’s the chiro’s signature.

Everything is linked: by taking care of a symptom, the whole body benefits positively from the adjustment!

The very famous cervical vertebra manipulation

It is the chiropractors’ special privilege! 5500 hours of classes, many hours of anatomy, physiology, orthopedics, neurology, image reading courses (Radio, MRI) and technical practice allow us to offer you this experience so mediatized that is the vertebral dissection. No fear This manipulation is without risk, it’s quick, perfectly painless. Above all, it is very effective to gain range of motion, reduce intradiscal pressure and thus help the remission of herniated discs, relieve muscle tension.

Okay, but… for whom… and when?

For everyone!
You can consult a chiropractor at any age. Babies, pregnant women, the elderly: chiropractic is for all people, always promoting an active and peaceful lifestyle. Obviously, there is no cracking for babies and toddlers.

I would also like to point out that in order to support a good quality of life, reducing sources of physical, chemical and emotional stress is always a plus!

Undesirable side effects and unfounded fear of vertebral dissection

Let’s face it, the manipulation of vertebrae by a licensed chiropractor is safe. Beware of  “fake news” which has induced a climate of anxiety in some people. Chiropractic presents no risks. You may experience some minor discomfort after the first session(s). These remain benign and disappear quickly a day  or two after the treatment. The most common discomforts are intense fatigue and/or possible exacerbated muscle tension.
